UNITAR hopes that participants can reflect upon the lessons of Hiroshima and its practical and symbolic significance for the United Nations, and the rest of the world, especially in these times of rising nuclear and other security threats. The roundtable, which will also mark UN Day, should allow for an exchange of ideas between UN Foundation Board members and representatives of Hiroshima's scientific, academic, policy, media and other governmental and non-governmental sectors.
