Dr. Eduardo Carrega Marçal Grilo
Trustee, Gulbenkian Foundation; former Minister of Education of Portugal
E. Marçal Grilo currently serves as member of the Board of Trustees of the Gulbenkian Foundation. During his career, he has held various positions including Director General for Higher Education and President of the National Council for Education. From 1995 to 1999 he served as Minister of Education of Portugal. Between 1980 and 1991, he was a consultant for the World Bank in the area of education.
Dr. Grilo holds a Master's Degree from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London, and a Ph.D. from the Instituto Superior Técnico-Universidade Técnica de Lisboa.
