Globalization and Development in Africa
The forces of globalization are perhaps the most important factors that affect the current environment for economic development. Globalization offers great opportunities for poor countries to accelerate their economic development. But, it also poses new and substantial challenges for economic management. Within this context there is increasing concern over the increasing economic marginalization of many countries in Africa. There has been a decline in Africa's share of world exports, a continued concentration in primary commodities and an inability to attract inward investment.
